Hmmmm. Do I let her in on how I know, or just let her think that I'm all knowing and powerful? Went with the latter. I did, eventually, get a truthfully answer. I have a friend who suggests not giving her kids the opportunity to lie, so maybe I should have asked, "Why did you put on my lipstick without asking?" In any case, whatever I have asked her since this episode, she fesses up with an emphatic "And I didn't lie!!!"
So if you need some tips on lying, or make up application, Maddie is NOT your girl!
